These passions came together when Dior Beauty announced the creation of an International Reverse Aging Scientific Advisory Board in March. Few brands have managed to dominate a market like Dyson, with its Supersonic hair dryer launched April 2016. In its first year after launch, it became the bestselling hair dryer in the U.K. and greatly contributed to the company’s overall sales boost of 45%. The product, which now retails between $400-$430, has become a social media darling. On TikTok, the hashtag #dysonhair has 1.5 billion views.
Modern Age, the nearly 2-year-old health and wellness clinic, is at the forefront of changing the conversation around what it means to get older. Melissa Eamer, founder and CEO of Modern Age, said the idea behind the company is showing people how they can prepare themselves to have the best second half of their lives.
In August, Function of Beauty introduced a new hair-care range, Function of Beauty PRO, exclusively at 300 Sephora locations in North America and online. In step, the brand became the first custom hair-care line to debut at Sephora. The pro-tested line, consisting of 19 products, is fully customizable based on hair type, hair goals and damage level. The launch into prestige was years in the making, said Alexandra Papazian, who joined the company as CEO in 2021.
As the head of consumer shopping across Google, Lilian Rincon has been at the center of the company’s rollout of AI features, which started in 2016 with the Google Home device. That includes its virtual apparel and beauty try-on tools and its product recommendations, all of which are meant to increase personalization and aid product discovery.
