Cold weather is upon us, which means oversized sweaters, heat-tech undergarments and big scarves are back in wardrobe rotations.
Buzzy shoewear brand Crocs has gotten in on that action with its latest shoe drop, the Classic Cozzzy Slipper. The shoe, which was released a little over a month ago, retails for $49.99 and comes in five colorways: black, slate grey, mushroom, blue calcite and pink clay. Decked out in faux shearling fur, and featuring non-slip soles and a strap for extra comfort, it offers a trendy fall take on Crocs’s classic clog silhouette.
The shoe’s first drop garnered much buzz online, to no one’s surprise. In one 12-second TikTok posted on November 9, user @p_stream says, “Have you heard about the new Crocs slippers … they’re incredible, and the most comfortable [shoes] I think I’ve ever owned.” It’s already amassed over 1 million likes and 15.3 million views. What’s more, the shoes have sold out.
Many others have posted their unboxing videos of the slippers, while others have taken to the platform to share their disappointment in not yet being able to snag a pair. “@Crocs yall #soldout before Thanksgiving. Y’all better be restocking these cause this was not fair … at all,” one user captioned in a video.
Crocs has solidified itself as one of Gen Z’s favorite shoe brands, and its popularity continues to grow. Its most recent earnings, released in November, showed quarterly revenue of $798.8 million, an increase of 11.6% year-over-year. That was thanks, in part, to the company’s popular partnership with creative designer Salehe Bembury and other buzzy collaborations this year, including with the apparel brand Museum of Peace and Quiet. Two weeks ago, it announced an upcoming collab with McDonald’s.
