This profile is part of the Glossy Pop Guide to Influencer-Founded Brands, covering the fashion, beauty and wellness companies started by people who built their careers on social media.  More from the series →

One of the most iconic hairstylist personalities, Brad Mondo began his career on YouTube in 2015. He followed in the footsteps of his father, who was also a salon owner and hairstylist. Mondo’s viral video series, “Hairdresser Reacts,” boosted his popularity all over social media. Now, after years of educating global viewers on how to best care for hair, Mondo has millions of followers on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. His inclusivity-focused hair-care and color brands, Xmondo Hair and Xmondo Color, are vegan and cruelty-free and prioritize customer education.

Who: Brad Mondo (XMONDO Hair & XMONDO Color)

Platforms: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram

What are you known for & how did you get your start?
I am a professional hairstylist and educator who created the Hairdresser Reacts video series. I grew my following by uploading videos consistently on YouTube for years, educating viewers around the world on how to care for your hair by sharing expert tips, product demos and advice on how to avoid common hair mistakes.

What’s the brand: Hair care and color

Find it: xmondohair.com and xmondocolor.com

Why did you decide to bring a brand into this crowded marketplace?
I wanted to represent people like me, because I didn’t relate to any of the brands in the market, and I wanted to create an inclusive brand for those who weren’t often represented in the hair industry. We focus on representing people of all backgrounds and hair types when developing products and marketing campaigns. I also wanted to connect directly to consumers and provide what they really needed from their hair care.

What makes the brand different?
I put my own beliefs and so much of myself into the brand, including my overall outlook on life. This is a brand about inclusivity for all, a commitment to high-quality ingredients and, finally, having fun in the process!

Best seller: Wavetech Wave Foam
