The fashion community is already out in full force for Hillary Clinton, and now Condé Nast and the CFDA have launched an Instagram campaign asking people to register to vote in this year’s presidential election.
The campaign, called #runwaytoregistration, includes an Instagram video featuring designers Michael Kors and Carolyn Murphy, directed by one of the industry’s most well-known photographers, Cass Bird.
The CFDA said that 35 designers and models have filmed short testimonials on the importance of registering to vote. They include Lily Aldridge, Tory Burch, Virgil Abloh, Kendall Jenner and CFDA chairman Diane von Furstenberg. There are a total of nine videos that will be shared across the designers’ Instagram accounts, on Vogue.com and Vogue’s social channels through fashion week.
The trade body said the campaign is nonpartisan. However, a bulk of the fashion community has already made clear where its presidential preferences lie: A group of designers have created t-shirts for Clinton. And there’s also “House of Hillary” a fashion line by Curtis Thomas that considers itself the “Clinton couture” of election apparel.
