Bella Thorne just embarked on her latest career venture: jewelry designer. Coinciding with her 25th birthday on October 8, the boundary-pushing actress, model and singer launched Thorne Dynasty, an edgy homage to her childhood and travels.
Thorne has consistently kept things raw and authentic with fans, and Thorne Dynasty’s Vol. I Rose & Reign collection holds true to her public persona. Barbed wire, daggers and hand-strung pearls adorn the pieces, reflecting the former Disney star’s personal style. Among the debut drop’s most unique styles are the pearl finger accessories encrusted in crystals. Priced at $135, the Sun Fumette Rings are designed to pass joints of cannabis, a hobby Thorne has openly discussed at length. (She also previously launched her own cannabis brand, Forbidden Flowers.) This first collection includes 32 pieces priced $20-$300 that will roll out in four drops.
Thorne shared with Glossy what prompted her decision to launch the line, what inspires her own style and what sets Thorne Dynasty apart from other celebrity-backed brands.
How much time went into Thorne’s Dynasty’s development, and what prompted the idea?

“We spent about two years designing and developing it. I’ve always had a strong influence in creating my own looks, whether it comes to doing my own makeup for photoshoots or layering accessories in a way that is authentic to me. I really like to get involved in the creative process, and I’ve been passionate about having a jewelry collection for a long time. It’s so exciting to get to show people the pieces that are special to me and that I chose to wear.”
Which piece has the most meaning to you?
“The styles with the crocodiles. The pieces are a reminder to me of who I am and where I come from. It feels like I’m wearing my history and my family’s generations on my neck. I especially love the crocodile clasps. They’re so special and make me feel like I’m back home [in Florida].”

What are the specific influences behind the overall design theme of Thorne?
“Influences have come from my childhood, travels and designs that have always resonated with me. Some of my favorite jewelry brands throughout history are Harry Winston and Van Cleef & Arpels. Bulgari is a classic, as well, particularly the reptile-inspired pieces that have a creative edge.”
Your pieces go all the way up to $300. What was behind your decision to go that high-end?
“The collection is handcrafted in Los Angeles, and the prices reflect the amount of effort that was put into creating high-end pieces that are not only timeless and thought-out, but also long-lasting and chic. It was, however, very important for me to make sure there was still an accessible price point within the collection.”
How does Thorne reflect who you are as a person?
“I am a very creative person and hope people will recognize my love and passion for creating and designing worthwhile fashion pieces. Thorne Dynasty has a strong focus on family. It was a requirement for me to showcase throughout my brand.”
Who are your biggest fashion influences?
“I’m influenced by many people who are true to themselves and take risks with mixing and matching different styles and textures. In today’s age, we celebrate all different genres of fashion, cultures and body types. I’m always inspired by how people style themselves in what makes them feel good, and that’s all that really matters.”
In this saturated world of celebrity brands, why should people take Thorne Dynasty seriously?
“The brand seeks to embody my values and who I am as a person. It’s a way for me to create, connect and communicate on a personal level with my family, friends and fans. I think people can relate to brands that share similar values and are more about creativity, confidence, individuality, empowerment, beauty and strength, rather than monetary gain.”
What will surprise people most about the brand?
“Most people will be surprised to learn that many of the pieces are multifunctional. For example, the Romeo Romeo Dagger Necklace can be worn four ways, and the smoking pieces were designed to elevate the smoking experience. I wanted to create the accessories that I was personally looking for in the market. I think it would surprise most people how deeply embedded I am in everything I work on. My hands are always in the pot!”
What are your dos and don’ts when styling jewelry?
“There are no ‘don’ts’ in styling jewelry. Layer the pieces however makes you feel confident and empowered. Take risks and push the boundaries. Mix and match unique pieces and even mix metals. Be big and bold and create your own style. There are no rules to confidence.”
