Athleta, Sephora, Yoox Net-a-Porter Group, Kering and L’Oréal Digital Services have been nominated for Innovation Team of the Year in the second annual Glossy Awards.
These companies have been nominated by Glossy’s editorial team for exceptional innovation in the last year. The winner will be decided by public vote, which is open from now through May 31. The winning company will be announced at the Glossy Awards gala.
“Innovation teams are modern research-and-development teams, typically focused on data and tech,” said Jill Manoff, Glossy’s editor-in-chief. “They hack all day, coming up with new product, evaluating new processes and testing the effects of incorporating new tech. In doing so, our nominees have effectively moved their companies forward.”
The Glossy Awards honor the brands, media companies and technology firms that are transforming the fashion and beauty industries at a time of seismic change.
Sephora also leads with the most nominations — the cosmetics store chain is up for four: Best Pop-Up/New-Concept Store for Sephora Studio, Best Campaign by a Traditional Beauty Brand for its 2017 holiday campaign, Best Use of Social by a Beauty Brand for its Beauty Insider community and Innovation Team of the Year.

Speaking of the finalists, awards judge and Glossier vp of marketing Ali Weiss said, “This year’s entries had the common thread of creating new experiences that redefine how people interact with product and brand in retail spaces. I was quite impressed with the whole spectrum of approaches; everything from leveraging technology to new brick-and-mortar concepts and physical product innovation.”
