We’re thrilled to welcome Jessica Schiffer, the newest addition to the Glossy reporting team. Since starting at Glossy in February, Jessica has consistently tackled big stories on a range of topics, from beauty to diversity to modern media. Standouts to date include “Inside Hearst’s turbulent attempt to build a Snapchat brand” and “Confessions of a fashion photographer.”
Jessica brings a strong point of view and much experience to Glossy. She was formerly the features editor at Who What Wear, where she focused on op-eds about the fashion industry and profile pieces on insiders. Just before coming to Glossy, she was freelance writing for publications including Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine and Refinery29.
Jessica, a New Jersey native and current Brooklyn resident, first connected with Glossy through an email inquiring about freelance opportunities. “I loved the work they were doing so much and wanted to finagle my way into it somehow,” she said, of the Glossy team. “Everything they put out was (and is) refreshingly informative, and, most importantly, no bullshit. I’m just excited to be a part of that (and to further prove that cold e-mailing pays off).”
This May will mark one year since we launched Glossy to cover technology’s great influence on the fashion and luxury industries. We’re so happy to have Jessica on board to help us celebrate this milestone and continue to grow.
Jessica can be reached at jessica@glossy.co. Follow her on Twitter at @jessicaschiffer.
